Today, Assemblymember Alex Lee introduced AB 3031 to address the inequities and barriers faced by LGBTQ+ community. AB 3031 will create the LGBTQ+ Commission with the goal of improving the health, safety and wellbeing of LGBTQ+ community members. The LGBTQ+ Commission will monitor state legislation, and assess programs and policies affecting the LGBTQ+ community. 

Today, AB 2881 was introduced by Assemblymember Alex Lee to develop social housing for Californians of all income levels. The legislation will establish the California Housing Authority to produce mixed-income housing that is affordable and financially self-sustaining. 

Today, Assemblymember Alex Lee introduced AB 2444 to ensure that nail salon workers and owners receive the necessary education about labor laws, so that workers are treated fairly in their workplace. 

Today, Assemblymember Alex Lee introduced AB 2367 to increase awareness of the critical services provided by the California School for the Deaf - Fremont (CSD). In recognition of CSD’s invaluable work to Deaf and Hard of Hearing children, the bill will direct the California Department of Transportation to create directional highway signs for CSD. 

Assemblymember Alex Lee released the following statement after the Assembly Revenue and Taxation Committee decided to hold his proposed wealth tax, AB 259. 

In an effort to create a more equitable tax system, Assemblymember Alex Lee is pushing forward his proposal for a wealth tax on the ultra-rich. 

Assemblymember Alex Lee has been appointed to the Committees on Housing and Community Development, Budget, as well as Labor and Employment by Speaker Robert Rivas. Assemblymember Lee currently Chairs the Committee on Human Services.

Assemblymember Alex Lee has assumed the Chair of the California Legislative Progressive Caucus after being elected into the role by its members.

The Governor has signed 11 bills authored by Assemblymember Alex Lee, legislation that promotes traffic safety, housing development, environmental justice and more. 

Assemblymember Alex Lee has secured $2 million from this fiscal year’s state budget to help Newark revitalize the Old Town neighborhood and develop the city’s first resource center.
