Youth Art Contest - Riding Future Transit

Get ready for our second annual Youth Art Contest! Assemblymember Alex Lee is inviting students from our schools to participate in the upcoming contest themed "Riding Future Transit."

The buses and trains that crisscross the Bay Area are iconic, and key to fighting climate change. Gas-powered vehicles and other transportation contribute over 20% of energy-related greenhouse gas emissions in the U.S., representing the nation's largest source of carbon pollution. California will soon transition to zero-emission vehicles. More than likely, your future trips between school and home will be on these vehicles. What do YOU imagine riding the transit of the future to be like?

The Youth Art Contest is open to all K-12 students residing in Assemblymember Lee's district which includes Fremont, Milpitas, Newark, Northern San Jose, and Sunol. This is your chance to showcase your talent and vision.

Submitted artwork will be judged on their creativity and vision in illustrating the theme "Riding Future Transit." Please fill out the following submission form, and drop off or mail your artwork to Assemblymember Lee's District Office at 1313 N. Milpitas Blvd Suite 255, Milpitas CA 95035. Submissions will be accepted until Friday, February 21, 2025 at 5 p.m.

We will showcase top submissions, and announce contest winners in Spring 2025. Assemblymember Lee's office will provide further details about the event at a later date. Winners of the art contest will also be honored at the California State Assembly. Their artwork will be displayed in my Capitol Office for one day.

For more additional information and questions, please contact Angela Pedrigal at Angela.Pedrigal@asm.ca.gov or call the District Office at (408) 262-2501.
