Alex Lee Takes Oath as Newest Assemblymember for the 25th District
Sacramento, California – Alex Lee (D-San Jose) took the oath of office to serve as Assemblymember for the 25th Assembly District today in a special ceremony at the California State Capitol in Sacramento. The oath was administered by Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon (D-63). The 25th Assembly District encompasses Fremont, San José, Santa Clara, Milpitas, and Newark.
“It’s the honor of my lifetime to represent the district where I’ve grown up,” said Lee. “I’m ready to hit the ground running and will legislate and advocate for the critical issues that will affect our daily lives.”
At 25, Alex will be the youngest member of the State Legislature. He is the youngest Asian American and first openly bisexual state legislator in California history.
Alex is a South Bay native and a graduate of Milpitas High School and UC Davis, where he served as Student Body President. Previously, he has worked for California State Senator Henry Stern in Sacramento and Assemblymember Evan Low.
