I hope to connect with you regarding issues important to you or provide assistance with state or local issues while learning more about the history of the Quarry Lakes Regional Recreation Area and the East Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD)! You’ll also hear from the East Bay Regional Park District about the 50 species of wildflowers and wildlife including wood ducks, great blue herons, snowy egrets, water birds, and more that call this area home.

Are you interested in getting more involved in our state government, but not sure where to start? Our office is hosting our Governor's Appointment Workshop with State Appointments Secretary Cathryn Rivera from Governor Newsom's office next Thursday. Information will be shared about how to apply to a state commission or board, what to expect during the application process, what it's like to be appointed, and what your role might look like.

There are dozens of boards and commissions that anyone can join to share their expertise such as the CA State Nursing Board or the State Water Commission. Commissions and boards are essential to ensuring that California continues its work in dozens of departments and is an effective tool that incorporates people's views in decision making spaces.

Please join me for a hybrid (in-person or online) workshop on various available government rebates on Sunday, June 12. Representatives from Alameda County Water District, Valley Water, the California Air Resources Board, Bay Area Regional Energy Network (BayREN), and Silicon Valley Clean Energy will provide information about the different rebates, incentives, and assistance programs that you might be eligible for to help you save money. In addition to hearing presentations, you will have an opportunity to speak with the representatives one-on-one to have your specific questions answered.
