Every year, wildfires burn millions of acres and thousands of structures in the United States. California had one of the worst fire seasons on record last year, with parts of Assembly District 25 forced to evacuate during the SCU Lightning Complex fire. Wildfire season has already affected some parts of the state this month. As we are especially vulnerable here in California, we will need to be vigilant and prepare early.
Please join my office, Councilmember David Cohen (San Jose District 4), CAL Fire's Santa Clara Unit, and the California Insurance Commissioner's Office for a townhall about wildfire preparedness on Monday, July 26 at 2:00 pm. Attendees will receive updates from CAL Fire's Santa Clara Unit on their efforts to combat wildfires and receive resources that are available from the California Insurance Commissioner's Office.
