Great news! My bill to ban corporate-owned single-family homes passed the State Assembly. AB 2584 will give families a better opportunity to buy their first home. If someone’s dream is to be a homeowner, then they should have a fair opportunity to achieve that goal. The bill will protect the limited stock of for-sale homes by banning large corporations that own more than 1,000 single-family homes from purchasing additional single-family properties.

We recently heard from a fifth grader about her personal story on the harms of anti-aging products. Like many kids, Scarlett Goddard-Strahan enjoys spending her free time watching videos with her friends. After hearing glowing reviews of various skincare products, the 10-year-old sought out products advertised as anti-wrinkling and brightening.

The Assembly District 24 Youth Art Showcase is just around the corner! In partnership with the California State Library, it is my pleasure to invite students K-12 to participate in our Youth Art Contest, with the theme “A Home for Everyone.” Housing is a human right, and everyone should be able to live, play, and work in their hometowns. Submitted artwork will be judged on how it conveys concepts that illustrate "a home for everyone."

When I was elected to office, I realized that we were missing a crucial tool — namely social housing — to address California’s housing crisis. By creating publicly-led housing developments, we can provide affordable and financially self-sustaining homes for all.

I’m excited about what we can achieve together this year. I’ve introduced a series of bills to tackle the housing crisis, from creating social housing for all to protecting homeownership opportunities and tenants' rights. Beyond housing, my legislation will help promote public health, workers’ rights, the well-being of LGBTQ+ community members and more. I’ll be sure to keep you updated on our progress, and here are some of the major bills I’ve introduced:
