Unsung Heroes

As your State Assemblymember, I have had the opportunity to work with our friends and family members who have stepped up to help one another during the pandemic. Volunteers across the district have done extraordinary work - work that deserves recognition. But, I need your help to properly recognize these community members. I am asking you to nominate an Unsung Hero who has volunteered their time or stepped up tremendously to make our community a better place. Whether they've delivered food to immunocompromised people or worked tirelessly as a frontline worker, I want to hear the stories of our AD 25 unsung heroes! We will also be hosting an awards ceremony for the honorees. The date and location of the ceremony will be announced in the coming weeks.

Please nominate an Unsung Hero by completing the form below. Everyone is invited to nominate and attend the awards ceremony. If you have any questions, please contact our office at 408-262-2501.

7 of our Bills Made it to the Governor!

In our first year, 7 out 15 of our bills passed both houses and made  it to the Governor for signature! It's been a difficult year with the pandemic, but it's been an honor to have been in the room making these decisions, fighting for working families, and making smart investments for the future.

AD 25 Business of the Year

AD 25 Business of the Year

We honored A Slice of New York (ASONY) as Assembly District 25's business of the year in Sacramento. Kirk Vartan and Marguerite Lee, co-owners of A Slice of New York (ASONY), opened the pizza shop nearly 15 years ago with the goal to bring East Coast comfort food to the Bay Area. In 2017, ASONY became a worker-owned cooperative - a business both owned and governed by their workers.

In a co-op, decisions are made democratically, and employees have direct involvement in evolving the business. For ASONY, employees have a hand in creating their paid-time-off plan and health care plan, as well as major decisions and direction of the business which is why it's no surprise they've gone above and beyond to protect their employees during the pandemic.

Finally, now that the Capitol is in recess, I hope to see you around in District 25 soon!

Sincerely,

signature of Alex Lee
