Dear Friend,
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas holiday. After one full year in office now, I'm filled with gratitude as I look back on 2021 and my first full year in office. I am proud of how much we've accomplished together in the midst of a global pandemic, and I'm honored to serve you in the State Assembly.
2021 Highlights:
This year, our office helped close a total number of 2500 cases, including 1600 EDD (unemployment) cases, which helped families get the help they needed. Our legislative session was a busy one: we focused on pandemic recovery, worker and renter protections, and passing a historic budget with the highest level of funding for education in California's history.

AB 1228 - Probation Detention Reform
While two bills including AB 339 (to continue allowing the public to participate in meetings remotely) were vetoed, accessibility, transparency, and integrity are core democratic values of mine, and modernizing government for constituents will continue to be an important goal.
We hosted monthly virtual office hours resulting in hundreds of virtual office hour meetings, met residents at community events including at farmers' markets and festivals, and hosted three heritage events.
We also hosted eleven town halls, organized two highway cleanups, and attended dozens of community events, parades, and festivals throughout the district.
We recognized 36 individuals and organizations as the Unsung Heroes of our district.
Our honorees included nurses and medical heroes, food bank volunteers, community members that work with our unhoused, and those that responded in the wake of the VTA shooting.
