Free Emergency Preparedness Training and Drought Declaration

District:

As you may have heard, the Valley Water Board of Directors recently voted to declare a water shortage emergency calling for water use restrictions and urging a local emergency declaration.

The District offers rebate programs, including the landscape rebate program that encourages residents to remove high-water-use landscape. On July 1, the maximum rebate amount for residential sites will increase to $3,000.

Learn more about the different rebates, conservation tips, and how to get free water-saving tools such as low-flow showerheads and toilet flappers.

Emergency Preparedness Training - Friday, June 25th 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

EPT

Last year, California had one of the worst fire seasons on record. South Bay, East Bay, and Peninsula communities suffered through some of the biggest wildfires in our State's history. This year, we are told the wildfire season may begin as early as July.

In addition to devastating fires, California is prone to earthquakes which can happen anytime. It is important to be proactive so that as a community, we can be better prepared for any emergency. I want to invite you to an Emergency Preparedness Training that my office will be co-hosting alongside Assemblymembers Bill Quirk, Ash Kalra, Marc Berman and Senators Bob Wieckowski, Josh Becker, and Dave Cortese.

The training will take place virtually on Friday, June 25 from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm. There will be a presentation that will educate you about preparing in advance for events like wildfires, earthquakes, Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS), and other emergencies.
