February 2021 News

Dear Neighbor:

I'm honored to serve as your Assemblymember during these challenging times as we enter an entire year now of living with COVID. With this monthly newsletter, I hope to keep you updated on what we're working on both in the District and in Sacramento.

Events

I'll be hosting a joint virtual town hall about tenant and landlord resources available under SB 91, the eviction moratorium extension for non-payment of rent due to COVID-19 financial hardship, with San Jose Councilmember Magdalena Carrasco on Monday, March 8th. We'll also be joined by the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley and Project Sentinel.

On January 29, Governor Newsom signed SB 91: the COVID-19 Tenant Relief Act into law. The bill extends the eviction moratorium to June 30, 2021 and establishes the State's Emergency Rental Assistance Program to provide financial relief for our landlords and tenants.
