District Office Staff
ZACHERY ROSS, District Director
Zack joined the office in January 2017 as a Field Representative. He spent the previous two years working as a Field Representative for Assembly Speaker pro Tem Kevin Mullin. Prior to working for the Assembly, Zack worked as a Legal and Financial Counsel at Huggelig Homes. Zack graduated from the University of California, Davis with a degree in Economics and Political Science, and also received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Davis.
LESLIE BULBUK, Senior Field Representative
Leslie joined the office in January 2017. She has worked as a senior staffer for several local members of the State Assembly since 2003, including former Assemblymembers Rich Gordon, Paul Fong, and Speaker pro Tem Sally Lieber. Prior to her Assembly employment, she founded the public education organization Love Sees No Borders to raise awareness of the issues of same-gender binational couples, and also worked in the high tech and music fields. Leslie graduated from the University of Michigan and Bowling Green State University.
ISABELLE LASALLE, Field Representative
Isabelle joined the office in June 2018. Prior to joining the office, Isabelle worked at the California Transportation Foundation. Isabelle graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in English.
Ruth joined the office in March 2019. Prior to joining the office, Ruth worked as the deputy campaign manager on a campaign for Santa Clara County Supervisor and as the Program Manager for Social Entrepreneurship at Hillel International. Ruth graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle with a degree in Political Science.
Capitol Office Staff
HARRY ERMOIAN, Chief of Staff
Harry became the Chief of Staff for Assemblymember Berman in December 2016. Prior to joining the staff, Harry served as Chief of Staff to former Assemblymembers Rich Gordon and Noreen Evans, as well as Capitol Director to former Assemblymember John Laird. He also served as Counsel to the Assembly Public Safety Committee and in several capacities with former Assemblymember Fred Keeley. Harry graduated from Santa Clara University with a degree in Political Science and received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Davis.
ELLEN HOU GREEN, Legislative Director
Ellen became the Legislative Director for Assemblymember Berman in December 2016. Prior to joining the staff, Ellen served in several capacities with former Assemblymember Rich Gordon, including most recently as his Legislative Director. Ellen graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a degree in Political Science, and received a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Southern California.
KAITLIN CURRY, Legislative and Communication Assistant
Kaitlin joined the office in December 2016 as a Legislative and Communications Assistant. Prior to joining the staff, Kaitlin served as a Legislative Aide to Assemblymember Mike Gatto and as a Press Intern for the Speaker of the Assembly. Kaitlin graduated from the University of California, Davis with a degree in Political Science and Communication.
KAREN BOCALING LAPIS, Legislative Assistant and Scheduler
Karen joined the office in January 2017. After getting her start in the nonprofit community and working for a lobbying firm, Karen worked in a number of capacities for former Assemblymember Mike Feuer and Assemblymembers Phil Ting, Susan Talamantes Eggman, and Mike Gipson. Karen graduated from University of California, Santa Cruz with a degree in Classical Studies and is currently working toward a certificate in Graphic Communication – Web and Interaction Design.
ELIZABETH SCHMITT, Legislative Assistant
Elizabeth joined the office in December 2017 as an Assembly Fellow. Prior to joining the staff, Elizabeth worked in the non-profit sector and served as an intern for Congresswoman Lois Capps. Elizabeth graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a degree in History of Public Policy.
ARIELLE AYALA, Legislative Fellow
Arielle joined the office in December 2018 as an Assembly Fellow. Prior to joining staff, Arielle worked as a high school English teacher in south Stockton while serving her commitment with Teach for America. Arielle graduated with a degree in Literature from Loyola University Chicago, and received a Master of Education Policy from Loyola Marymount University.
